Missing You All

My life revolves around my friends..seriously. All of us in a group are like one big family and I love each and every one of them to death...This is them up there. From left: Jo-Ann, me, Chin, Huey Wen, Ee May, Celest and Ai Choo

Jo-Ann's studying Bio in UM. She's one silly goose..haha.Love teasing her cos she so funny when she defensive. She eats really fast, too. Meal times always turn into a race between Jo-Ann and me but sadly, she still remains undefeated. But boy, can we both talk! If you put both of us together, we can just yack the day (and night!) away. Only God knows what we talk about! Phone conversations with Jo-Ann can last up to 3 hours long, much to my parents' dismay.

Then there's Chin, the nicest of the lot. Se's studying communications in NUS. Really miss her to bits as she's the one I run to with my problems. Really miss her advices and logical way of putting everything into perspective.

Huey Wen's studying nanotechnology in Australia. She'll be leaving this Friday after a 3- month break. She's my partner-in-crime. We do all the evil stuff together ( like gossiping and plotting to annoy someone else)..haha. But we annoy each other more! We always look for things to irritate each other with and that's what really makes us so close. Can talk to her for hours too. She has this really weird way of cheering me up but somehow it just does the trick. And oh yes, she's so jealous cos her sister said I'm gonna be real famous in the future...haha.Don't worry, I'll always remember the little people even when I'm famous.

Ee May is studying Engineering Physic in USM. She's the shortest in our group..haha(sorry, May!). But she's also the most talented one. Sh's really creative and quite a perfectionist in everything she does. She's the only one among us who's studying in Penang so whenever I go back for the weekend, she's the one I always see. She's so dependable and really caring in her own way. She does't show it but she does little things to show that she cares. We love terrorrising Jo-Ann together! Good ol' Ee May.

Celest just left for New Zealand the other day where she's studying Engineering. Celest is great at giving advice too although some of it are pretty wacky to go along with. One thing about her is that she never holds a grudge. She forgets pretty quickly any wrongdoings. She's really crazy and quite lovable.

Ai Choo's studying with Jo-Ann in UM. She's like the big sister of the group, maybe because she's the oldest of us all ( by a few months). She's the practical one and has her head on her shoulders. She's the one who often tries to calm or over-excited group in some instances. But sometimes she surprises us by being as every bit as crazy as the rest of us if not more!

Thanks for being such great friends, guys. Missing you all loads here...until we meet again, God bless you all. To Huey, come back soon ya and don't forget to sms me!! Love you all..*hugs*

So Sad...

It's the time of the year again. The time when I would be be feeling sad for myself...yes people..it's Valentine's Day. Well this year was no different from the previous years...didn't get flowers or candies or anything from any secret admirers..sigh. The only thing different from previous years is that I spent it all alone in my room, studying too, mind you (had an exam today). Every year, without fail (up until this year, of course) my friends (all of whom are single and available too, with the exception of Celest) and I would celebrate V-Day together...guess what do we do? We usually have dinner then a movie and then as a nightcap, we go down to Gurney Drive to watch the lovey-dovey couples there while pitying ourselvelves at the lack of boyfriends in our lives...really sad, huh? Haha..
Was a bit sad this year cos i felt so alone...Chin, who's studying in Singapore felt the same way too..pity her. Well at least some of us had fun..Huey and Ee May went out for a movie. Celest celebrated her first V-Day with her boyfriend who flew down from Sarawak as a surpise (ain't that sweet?).
To everyone out there, Happy Valentine's Day!

Water Activities...

Twas Superb!!

Oh, the last week was so great! Was in Penang for more than a week. Got to eat to my heart’s content…really, really missing Penang food already la. Got to spend time with my family and also my friends.

The last day in Penang was the best! My friends and I went to Batu Feringghi to play some water sports. We set out about 12pm. When we reached, there was some confusion as to what to play. All of us agreed to ride on the banana boat together but we were unsure whether to do parasailing or ride on a jet ski. In the end 3 of us went parasailing and the rest rode the jet ski. I went parasailing and boy, was it wonderful! It was absolutely awesome to see a little of Penang from the skies. It is totally different from seeing it from an airplane, believe me. As the wind blew in my face, I was just struck dumb with the beauty of God’s creation. My heart kept jumping as the parachute kept going up and down. At one point the guy in the boat pulling my chute was going so slow, I actually touched the water.

After all of us had finished doing our individual sport, it was time to go on a banana boat. It was so much fun, riding along the waves with everyone screaming ourselves silly…haha. The as went on our last round, I suddenly saw everybody in front of me being thrown into the water. In a while, I found myself in the water also. How I struggled to gain control of myself. Actually I have a great fear of water. Can’t swim also. The first thing that went through my mind when we fell into the water was the fact that this beach was full of jellyfish. I’ve never been stung by a jellyfish and wouldn’t want to create history now. Then I suddenly felt somebody pulling my hair down and I was going into the water! Naturally, I struggled to stay afloat. With water going in my nostrils, I couldn’t breathe. I struggled harder and I won. I looked behind to see who pulled me under and just imagine my surprise when I saw it was Celest, my friend whom I knew since Standard One. She told me she had to hold on to me to stay afloat herself. My childhood friend, putting her life before mine…sigh. Remind me never to get stranded on a deserted island with her. She might start eating me to survive…haha. Then another friend, Huey said she felt a sting on her leg. The jellyfish had struck! Fortunately, it wasn’t a serious sting. It got healed after a while.

After our beach escapades, we proceeded to a delicious lunch of the famous Penang laksa nearby (still makes my mouth water just thinking about it). After laksa, we went on to Lorong Selamat for ais kacang. That too, was really good.

What a day it was! Really the greatest day I had in a long time..thanks to Ee May, Huey Wen, Celest, Chee Mei and Jo-Ann for a wonderful time!
