What Is The World Coming To

It's really sad and equally horrifying that we can't seem to go anywhere without being mugged, assaulted, raped or murdered these days. Always have to think twice before stepping out of the house. Plus we have to go to great lengths to dress with care..is it too short or too tight or too recealing? But these horrible things happen to those who even cover themselves totally..so what's wrong here? Take the recent rape and murder case of an ex-student of UUM which happened in Sungai Petani. The poor girl was kidnapped while jogging, raped and murdered and her body was dumped elsewhere. What about the little girl who was left to die in an estate Nibong Tebal after being raped? She died later in a hospital in Penang due to severe head injuries.

Cruel, you say? Of course it it. But it keeps happening even though much has been said and great safety measure taken. What more can we do? I mean, if it's the provocative dressing that provokes these guys, how come little girls fall victims too?

In my opinion, stiffer penalties should be handed to those convicted of these gruesome sins. But even then, I wonder how many of them are actually afraid? How can we girls go out without feeling afraid for our lives? It's sad, really...what is the world coming to?

Yippee!!!

Hi...I’m back again! What a wonderful week this has been. I went back home!!! For 2 days only la but it was still amazing. Got to spend time with my family as well as my friends. Brought home a couple of my friends from UUM as they wanted to see Penang guided by yours truly…hehe. It was great bringing my UUM friends and my home friends together. Thought it would be awkward at first but they got along fine.

Went to watch Cheaper By The Dozen 2…my first movie in weeks! The movie was great but then again, I’m a sucker for comedies especially romantic and family based comedies, so of course I thought it was great.

Mom cooked all my favourite food in those few days (God bless her!) which was a big welcome after suffering from diarrhea for the few weeks after every single meal in UUM. Lost weight in the first 2 weeks so when I went home, mom decided that I needed some feeding. But now since I came back, diarrhea is also back…so sad. Don’t know what the cause is. Can’t be that the food is dirty coz I have eaten dirtier food in Penang and I never suffered from diarrhea then. SIGH

Now on to something that has been in the newspaper for too long-this Elie Youssef Najem business. I find the whole issue so dumb that I don’t really know what to say..haha. I mean, come on there must be other news to report other than about this guy who seems to crave for attention, claiming he’s a prince, that he is an heir to a billion dollar empire and also all sorts of other absurdities! It’s becoming totally out of control, the way this thing has been handled. The news is turning into a laughing-stock. I really think that the media should work harder to report news that are really worthy and not create a great upheaval about this man…seriously!

Back in UUM!!!

Sigh...here I am again, back in UUM after a 2-month break. Had the most amazing time during holidays...went for a couple of trips, attented a national camp, had lots of outings with my friends and of course celebrated Christmas! It was fantastic!

But the fun's over(boo-hoo), for now at least. Came back about a week ago. Had a stressful first day, worrying about everything-my room, the lack of credit hours to my name and also the fact that I was gonna miss my mom like crazy!

Well, as the week wore on, my worries began to fade. Managed to add more subjects despite the the fact that most of the classes were already full. Special thanks goes out to Mr Mot for taking me in his already-packed Pengantar Komunikasi class. Absolutely had to take this subject this semester. Also, got to talk to my mom everyday so wasn't feeling very homesick.

The best part was got to hang out with my close church friends for most of the week. Made new friends in classes. Lecturers have been great so far. Even have Aruna in a couple of my classes with me. So all is looking well now except that I have a cold and a sore throat now.

Oh wait!! Did I mention that they've closed down our beloved Perwaja cafeteria? That's the craziest thing they've ever done. Bye-bye burgers and all the other wonderful food that kept me so satisfied last semester. Nowadays we have to walk to Telekom college to get our food. And it doesn't even come close to Perwaja's standards!! Sigh again. Sometimes it really amazes me how much we have to suffer to get that degree of ours..haha.

Ok..I'm off for now..Will keep updating. Ciao!!
